Highlights

Wetlands Environment

A breathtaking environment.  Discover a wide variety of native birds in and out of the water.  Also home to the Koalas and a small fruit bat colony.  This area is a fantastic representation of the natural wetlands in our region.  Don’t forget the ‘Stork Walk’ to get a bird’s eye view of the beautiful Black Necked Storks.

Savannah Environment

A favourite of children and adults alike!  Grab some roo food and head to the open-air Savannah Habitat.  Hand feed the friendly kangaroos and Wallabies.  Home to the world’s first Predator Plank!  The only plank walk over the top of Estuarine Crocodiles.  Head to the Tree Kangaroo exhibit to catch a glimpse of this rare animal.  The Pelican’s and Emu’s are always a crowd-pleaser at Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat.

Rainforest Environment

Stroll along the boardwalk through lush Rainforest.  See the varying microenvironments that make up a natural Rainforest, from ground level right up through the canopy!  Say G’Day to the stunning endangered Cassowaries, a true icon of the FNQ Rainforest.  Also home to lizard species and many colourful birds.  This beautiful exhibit is enchanting.

Woodlands Environment

Take a break and have a seat in the Woodlands Habitat.  Home to the smaller bird species.  You’ll be amazed at the colours of these birds!  You may even spot an endangered Northern Bettong or 2!
